DoubleClick announced the launch of Real Time Messaging (RTM), a new component to its DARTmail e-mail deployment platform. Alcatel has introduced two new products and a capability to its OmniSwitch 6000 enterprise workgroup lineup for chassis-grade availability, security and manageability. The Alcatel OmniSwitch 6602 layer-3 workgroup switch features policy-based OneTouch QoS and VLAN tools and is available in 24- and 48-port 10/100 models. The Alcatel OmniSwitch 6600 U24 fiber-to-the-desk solution is also built on the Alcatel Operating System (AOS) and was designed for military and campus networks. Its pluggable optics design supports all optic types found in enterprises. Also, Alcatel OmniSwitch 6600 workgroup switches now supports 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) to power a range of products through Category 5 cables.
