From NetPro comes three products for Active Directory management. ChangeManager for Active Directory enforces change policies, and SecurityManager for Active Directory provides real-time notification of Active Directory vulnerabilities and best practices for maintaining a secure directory environment. Both are slated for shipment in Q1 2005. DirectoryTroubleshooter 4.0 helps resolve Active Directory problems with reporting on health and security, real-time domain controller (DC) diagnostics, and boasts more than 100 different tests and utilities for enterprise-wide Active Directory troubleshooting. http://www.netpro.com

ADvantage Elements v.2.5.1, a free upgrade for the Active Directory (AD) task-specific tools, includes major updates to ADreporter and ADsearch. The solution from Javelina Software also offers the abilities to report on computer accounts in AD, search and replace on computer properties and attributes, import a specific list of objects instead of reporting on an entire OU or domain, and has new mail configuration options. BakBone Software released its updated backup and recovery solution for small- and medium-sized businesses, NetVault 7.3, with enhanced support for file systems and selected applications running in Microsoft Server 2003, such as MS Exchange and MS SQL, and RedHat Enterprise Linux clustered environments. Gateway introduced the Gateway 823 LTO3 Autoloader, a 2U tape storage system based on the new LTO3 standard. Featuring a single LTO3 Ultrium tape drive that can hold up to eight high-capacity LTO3 tapes, mid-enterprise businesses can store 6.4TB of compressed, mission-critical data, with a data transfer rate of 66MB/sec., at an MSRP of $6,499. http://www.gateway.com

DataFRAME 420 from MPC Computers, based on IP SAN technology, targets mid-market customers by offering less expensive Gigabit Ethernet iSCSI or more costly but high-performing Fibre Channel connectivity. Starting with 16 hot-swap 250 GB SATA drives, 4TB of storage per 3U enclosure, and the ability to add enclosures, the storage solution provides the potential to expand. Seagate added the NL35 SATA disc drive to its enterprise-ready drive lineup as a cost-effective alternative to its NL35 Fibre Channel model to serve nearline and secondary storage applications in Serial Attached SCSI (SAS)-based infrastructures. Chelsio Communications released its T110 10GbE iSCSI Protocol Engine. The EonStor A16F-G2221 supports dual-host Fibre to SATA-II and the EonStor A16U-G2421 is a dual-host U320 SCSI to SATA-II, single-controller RAID subsystem with two dual-stacked VHDCI connectors on the rear.
