MCSE: Security Tops 4,000
Growing ranks of those with MCSE: Security offers some proof that security remains hot.
Security continues to be hot-button topic and the growing ranks of those
holding Microsoft's security certification offers some real-world proof
that the trend will continue.
In a recent look at its own numbers, Microsoft Corp. says that more than
4,000 people have achieved its Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer: Security
certification since its introduction in 2003. According to the company,
this is equivalent to more than 20 percent of all who have received the
MCSE credential on Windows Server 2003, which launched soon after the
security specialization.
The original impetus for the security specialization was the "Secure
in Deployment" tenet of the Trustworthy Computing Framework that
Bill Gates announced in February 2002, amid fanfare last February 2002.
Since then, Microsoft has injected security objectives into most of its
exams, even many of its developer-based ones.
According to Microsoft, there are currently more than 17,000 people who
have taken three or more of the exams that are required to achieve the
MCSE: Security.
