From the business wires this week: an enterprise solution for simplifying secure user login, an alternative to Visual Basic, and a network appliance for Web conferencing.
Version3 released the latest version of its enterprise
single sign-on software suite with
Simple Sign-On 2.0.
The identity management solution, which integrates with Microsoft Active Directory,
can be configured to provide users secure access to applications, Web sites and
legacy systems using one set of network security credentials. Current customers
can upgrade to version 2.0 for free.

With the end of mainstream support for Visual Basic (VB) from Microsoft, REAL
Software announced that over 10,000 VB developers have downloaded REALbasic,
an alternative development tool. REALbasic version 5.5.5—which includes
an update to VB Project Converter that can port VB applications to REALbasic—and
licensees to use it will continue to be offered for free to Visual Basic users

of storage management appliances. The Multi-Services Manager
(MSM) 150 is network-attached storage (NAS) appliance with support for:

network protocols like NFS, TCP/IP, CIFS, NTP, HTTP, DHCP and FTP; a variety
of optical media formats, such as WORM, Blu-Ray and DVD-R; and universal disk
format (UDF). Other features include both Ultra160-SCSI and FireWire 400 interfaces

of Fin-Keylog, a software product that provides real-time
protection against hackers from monitoring your keystrokes. Pricing is $40 per

network appliance solution for hosting live Web conferences. Visual
Collaboration System (VCS200) 1.8 enables users to hold live collaborative
meetings via a Web browser with improved file transfer for distributing files
to conference attendees and the ability for the moderator to designate five
speakers who can be heard simultaneously by attendees. Optional language packs
for the GUI are available in French, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, German and Chinese,
