From the business wires this week: tools for tracking Active Directory and domain controller activities and system log data; a portable wireless router; and a tool for comparing and syncing folders.
Quest
Software Inc. released
Quest InTrust for Active Directory
version 1.6, which now offers full Active Directory and domain controller
activity tracking, in addition to previously available Active Directory
change auditing functionality. The product, formerly known as Change
Manager for Active Directory, is part of the Quest Compliance Suite
for Windows. Quest also announced the release of
Quest InTrust
for Windows version 8.5, which now collects event log data from
more than just Windows-based systems. The product now features support
for Linux, Oracle databases and firewalls. InTrust for Active Directory
is priced at $12 per user account, and InTrust for Windows begins
at $449 per server.

EMC Corp. and Softek Storage Solutions Corp. jointly
released the EMC/Softek Logical Data Migration Facility (LDMF)
software, which they claim is the industry's first data migration
software that relocates data non-disruptively at the dataset level
on storage arrays operating within mainframe environments. The LDMF

Linksys announced it has begun shipping products with SecureEasySetup
technology (SES). SES enables users to set up and add security to
their wireless networks with a push of a button. Current users of
select Linksys Wireless-G and Wireless-G with SpeedBooster products
can also take advantage of the new technology by downloading SES-updated

The company also released its Wireless-G Travel Router with
SpeedBooster (WTR54GS). The travel-friendly form factor includes
a built-in power supply and wireless signal antenna as well as a
WAN port for connection to a Cable or DSL connection and an Ethernet
port for connecting an additional wired device or computer. The
router features backwards-compatibility with 802.11g and 802.11b
(2.4GHz) standards, Wi-Fi security and support for universal bridging
for sharing a single high-speed wireless Internet connection. Priced

ESET announced its unified anti-virus and anti-spyware solution
NOD32 now offers malware protection for x64 versions of Windows
XP and Windows Server 2003. Pricing for a 50-user small business

Heatsoft Corp. released Advanced Directory Comparison
and Synchronization (ADCS) 1.18, a Windows utility that lets
users recursively compare multiple folders side-by-side and synchronize
folders contents, whether on one computer or multiple network computers.
ADCS features CSV- and HTML-based comparison reports, multiple-language
support, and is compatible with Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003. The
company also released Heatsoft Automatic Synchronizer 1.05, a Windows
utility designed for automatic synchronization, backup, replication
and mirroring of critical files on most storage media or even between
two computers on a network. The tool is compatible with Windows

CBL Data Recovery Technologies Inc. announced the release
of CBL Data Shredder, its freeware solution for controlled
erasure of sensitive data. The tool supports Windows XP and FreeDOS.

GigaTrust announced the release of software that allows
users to recall sensitive digital information, even after the information
has been delivered and opened by a recipient. This capability allows
users to destroy access to intellectual property, confidential data,
or regulated information. The software utilizes Windows RMS technology
to deliver revocation that is user-controlled and document-specific.
