From the business wires this week: an Exchange search tool, Windows backup products, and SQL Server monitoring and managing tools.

Sherpa Software yesterday announced the latest release of its automated e-discovery tool, Discovery Attender for Exchange 2.0. The new version stores search results in their own databases, eliminating previous database size constraints. Related searches are grouped together as projects for portability and easy viewing from multiple installations. Other enhancements have been made to the search wizard and engine. http://www.sherpasoftware.com

Never mind that Microsoft released a Community Technology Preview of SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 1 on Wednesday, the public loves gossip. A Microsoft employee claimed on a company blog site that Vista was going to ship November, a month later than the previously rumored October timeframe. Elsewhere, an anonymous source told Game Informer magazine the next installment of the popular Xbox video game Halo won't be called Halo 3 but Halo Forerunner. To both tantalizing bits of hearsay, Microsoft said it "doesn't comment on rumors or speculation." Oh well.
