Visual Studio Exam Goes Beta
Microsoft puts Tech Spec exam for developers through beta testing paces.
Even as Microsoft seems to pour lots of effort into the Vista exams, the company continues to make headway to offer a full line-up of developer exams with the release of another Vistual Studio exam into the beta testing stream.
Exam 70-510 TS: Visual Studio Team Foundation Server, went to beta testing last Tuesday, with testing ending March 5. For candidates planning to register for it while in beta, the exam is numbered 71-510.
Exam 70-510 veers from the typical Visual Studio exam in that it contains a minimal amount of technical content and heavily tests candidates' skills in tackling strategic issues with designing and architecting a project within a team enviroment. Thus, it's aimed at team leaders or consultants working on projects with Team Foundation Server as a centerpiece. Microsoft recommends only those with similar high-level experience to attempt this exam, according to the exam objective guide.
Those who pass the beta and live version of the exam will earn a MCTS: Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server certification when the exam goes live some time in April.
Exam 70-510 will be $125 when it goes live; beta exams, however, are free to those who receive an invitation from Microsoft to take it. For more info on beta invitations, click here.
